"Strawberry Fields Forever" by Claire

Today, June 24th, was the beginning of the Freedom Tour for residents of Brunswick, Maine. After a long day of bus rides and rest stops, our three busses finally landed in New York. Having to make a quick departure from the buses as New Yorkers are not patient, we exited onto the busy streets of New York City.  From there, we walked down to Central Park  and made our way to Strawberry Fields, a place to remember John Lennon, one of the famous Beatles, who died outside the Dakota. Unfortunately, we did not bring chalk and were unable to leave our mark on the ground.  We did, however, take about a million pictures to remember the day. It was a peaceful place, albeit crowded, and very beautiful. The mosaic, located on the ground in front of Strawberry Field, had a design made of flower petals around the word “Imagine,” one of the most famous John Lennon songs. Overall, it was a very lovely place.
